Emily is a documentary filmmaker, DP, producer and journalist. She seeks out untold visual stories around the globe - from medical treatment in Palestine to climate change’s effect on coffee farmers in Guatemala. Prior to UC Berkeley, she was a news editor for The Huffington Post where she covered breaking news, digital trends, women’s issues and social impact stories. Most recently she was a senior journalist for Storyful, the world’s first social media verification news agency, verifying and discovering eye-witness footage of top news around the world, and acquiring licenses for top publishers. Her writing and video work has appeared in POV, VICE, Motherboard, Esquire.com, and The Huffington Post among several other outlets. She is currently leading an investigation team at the Human Rights Center and editing her master’s thesis film for the documentary program at UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism.
